It is not the sewing — it is the setup
Most factories can physically knit 50 pieces. The reason they decline is economic: three fixed costs do not shrink with the order.
Yarn has a minimum
Spinners sell by cone and dye lot. A custom colour can mean 100+ kg before a single garment is knitted — the hidden reason many factories refuse small runs.
Machine setup is fixed cost
Programming, gauge setting and test panels take the same time whether you knit 50 pieces or 500. Spread over 50, the setup cost per piece is ten times higher.
Trims have minimums too
Woven labels, care labels and poly bags are ordered by the thousand. A 50-piece run still buys a full label minimum — we plan for it instead of hiding it.
Four things we do differently
500+ stock yarn colours
No dye lot minimum, no waiting for a custom shade. Colour cards matched to Pantone TCX where possible.
1.5GG–16GG on one floor
Chunky cable knits and 16GG fine merino run on the same production floor, so a small test order can cover several styles.
3–7 day sampling
Sample first, decide after. The sample fee is refunded in full when a bulk order of 300+ pcs per style follows.
Same factory, sample to bulk
No handover to a trading company. The team that knits your sample runs your bulk order.
